When we think of lock picking most of us presume it is for illegal
activity, but it is also a way that Locksmiths use to help gain access into our
home, business or automobile.

Imagine you are locked out of your business as you go to open up for
the day. When you get there you start searching for your keys and realize you
do not have them on you. You begin to get a little stressed and feel a little panicked.
You start looking around the door or around the building looking for ways you
can gain access as opening time is just around the corner. You could break the
glass maybe even stick a hair pin or paper clip into the lock like they do on MacGyver
and maybe it will pop open. Suddenly as time is passing by you start coming to

lock-out kit and goes to work. He inserts his Tension wrench, and gets his

There are a lot of different ways to picks locks. You can pick
the pins one by one with a diamond pick. You can use a rake pick and use faster
motions to try and manipulate the lock. You can use a manual pick gun that pops
the pins up all at once to the shear line while holding tension on it. Then
there is the electric pick gun that pops the pins all at once as well with a
faster vibrating motion. Each technique is different and Locksmiths practice
them and use different ones for different types of locks and configurations.
